Child Support

Child support is dealt with by the Child Support Agency (CSA).  The Child Support Scheme payments are paid by one parent to the other to help with the costs of raising a child or children under the age of 18 years.  The CSA are there to assist separated parents to transfer payments for the benefit of their children.
Payments can be made by agreement between parents however if no agreement is reached the CSA has the power to collect and enforce Court Orders that may have been made as well as child support assessments.
Child Support Assessments can differ depending upon a number of factors such as the age of a child as well as the amount of time a child spends with a parent.  The CSA have a comprehensive website which will provide more information as well as a calculator to give you a guide as to the likely payments that should be made/received.
